HTML Frame(optional)

We had learnt how to use Iframes in the last tutorial.But being a web developer you should also know how to divide your webpage into frames(i.e multiple frames).Though this is not much in use today,every web developer should know to use them.The set or collection of fames in a webpage is defined under the Frameset tag(<frameset></frameset>).
Eg:-<frameset cols"">
               <frame src= "x.html"/>
               <frame src= "y.html"/>
      </frameset>
The frames can be customized with the help of attributes of frameset tag.
  • cols="25%,*"-Columns  attribute is used to divide your webpage into columns.
    • the % symbol represents that the left column is 25% of the windows width.
    • the * symbol represent that it can have resizable area.
  • rows="25%,*"-Rows  attribute is used to divide your webpage into rows.
    • the % symbol represents that the left column is 25% of the windows height.
    • the * symbol represent that it can have resizable area.
  • The frames are nestable by using a frameset tag inside another frame set tag.
  • <noframes> </noframes>  tag must be used if the users browser does not support frames.this is generally a must use tag.
  • the borders can be removed bu using the frameborder attribute.
  • VERY IMPORTANT-frameset tag is independent and should not be enclosed within the body tag.
